The dance of a lifetime

They say that love is blind but, like every other adolescent, she was obsessed with her looks. Tonight was the dance she’d been looking forward to for so long — everyone had been talking about it. Slowly, but confidently, she took to the floor.

Her elegant body shone in the Brazilian moonlight. She twisted and turned, moving gracefully in unison with her peers. She pointed to the sky and extended her outstretched leg along the ground, her head moving purposely from side to side.

Bending down, she displayed her flexibility with ease. She darted back and forth as she participated in the complex, well-rehearsed display. She craned her neck heavenward to reveal the full length of her shiny, pink regalia.

Then, his eyes caught hers. They made their way towards each other, stepping in time. Necks entwined, the perfect mating dance of the flamingos drew to a close.
