What Secret Can You Learn about Mistakes from a Child?

I started looking at mistakes in a new way

When a child falls, what will he do?

My friend has a child, and her name is Vicky. How cute she is. She’s a toddler now. She is a real quick learner. Not so long ago, she crawled on all fours. She’s on her feet today. Tomorrow she will walk.

Before Vicky starts to walk, she will have to fall many times. But she will stand up and move further. The child is not afraid to take a fall. Can’t you feel how great it is?

Children have an innate feeling that there are no achievements without falls.

Over the years, we forgot that making falls is a great opportunity. There are different reasons for that. We are afraid of not knowing something. It’s scary for us to ask for an explanation. It’s easier for us to argue that everyone around us is to blame, but we are not.

Go back to the earlier announced toddler Vicky. She’s a little piece of courage and curiosity, a small but self-confident person. Mistakes don’t scare her. You may ask: “Cool. What do I get from this?”

We still have this curious little child inside of us. It’s still as curious and brave.

The older we become, the more good moves we’re doing. Is it so?

When we encounter something new, we think twice and check three times. But often, we end up doing nothing. Why do we reflect so much and act so little? And what have children to do with it?

Children are not thinkers. They are doers, and they learn from their deeds.

So I did. I’ve started to do something and learn from the results of my work. I figured out some steps that helped me to deal with my fears of making mistakes.

So simple. You can move on only by admitting your fears. Without revealing them, you always will think twice and check three times.

You’re faced with your fear and are now ready to move on. Start working with the problem. Find out what exactly worries you. You’re afraid to swim because you have seen a documentary film about a shark’s life. Now you’re sure that one of them will come for you, in the river.

Runaway from worries rather than faced them is not a clue. I understand that this is a loud statement, especially when I realize that I am doing the same. But come on, there are no sharks in a river!

Nothing happens right away. You have to work on yourself constantly. And every time you come back to the problem, you will get better and better.

You shouldn’t feel like mistakes are something awful, something that we have to avoid. Mistakes give you the chance to be the best version of yourself. Whenever you make a mistake, you have to think about what you can take from this situation.

I know that my mistake is not the end of my life. Yours too, my friend.

Thank you for reading.
