Heed the Message Behind the Feeling

Don’t turn away when it’s in your power to help.

(30-Day Challenge — Day 28)

Feelings can be wrong
and sometimes if acted
upon turn my life
upside down.

Then, there is my
unexplainable feeling
that just appears.
Something odd and
not right is near.

This is not mystical
or weird. And, in fact
by observation I
see, sense, and know
something is “off”
with the man in
the beard.

Light conversation
gives weight to his
unhappy state.
My feeling was
right. His life is
riddled with
loneliness and
a dead wife.

How did I know
to approach this
stranger I did
not know?
Perhaps it was his
head that he carried
so low. Or, his fake
smile and his eyes
dull without a
glow.

To not act on these
feelings of mine,
would be a tragedy
of another kind.

A soft word and a
caring way was all
this bearded man
needed for the day.

So, if you ever get
these feelings like
mine…
Act upon them, for
they are a gift of a
special kind.
