Hills of Barcelona

So climbing has been an essential part of my life over the past week and a half, ever since I arrived in Barcelona. Every day, it feels, I’m climbing yet another mountain. Mind you these are not MOUNTAINS, but mostly tiered parks, a cemetery and random streets leading up to the parks.

For whatever reason, when I get to a new place, I avoid public transportation for at least a day. Still a mystery, but there it is, so the first day or so I cover the territory on foot. Since my stay in Barcelona is a longish one, it took me three days to meet my first bus driver.

Since I’m not a real tourist, no pictures of the sculptures — I never went inside.

Inspired by my first climb up in Barcelona, I’ve decided to just “keep on runnin’ “ in the words of Forrest Gump. So I did.

Beyond the labyrinth are pools with very green water and koi fish swimming around. Couldn’t catch those on camera, so just the green water :)

People are many in this part of the park, but if you go further into the trails, you’re not likely to see anyone, save for a few birds.

All the paths are forming a circle, with many steps and small terraces with benches, so you exit at the same point you’ve entered — near the labyrinth.

Surprisingly enough, not very many locals know about this park.
