How deep do your stories go?

We all face problems on a daily basis, from things like not having clothes to wear to not being able to afford your bills sometimes.

Alot of those problems are formed by patterns that if we look at closely, keep repeating and are seen in so many areas of our lives.

Can you think of one of those patterns? I sure can! One of the patterns I deal with is perfectionism, always wanting to get things done in the most perfect way.

Now this may seem like a such a PRO, or that I am bragging about it. But there is a lot hidden underneath such a pattern. Some of the things that can be associated to it is “the mighty ego” where you are having to be perfect because you don’t want to be like “those others” that you have placed judgments on previously in your life and thus put yourself on a pedestal and have such unbearable expectations of yourself.

All these expectations are coming from the judgments you place on others, the judgments you place on yourself, and this weight you carry with you all the time. You carry it to the store, always wanting the perfect product and feeling bad about yourself when you get something that isn’t good.

You carry it to work, punishing yourself and criticizing yourself about the shortcomings that happen to you during your workday.

You even carry it to your marriage, and intimate relationship. This can manifest as wanting the perfect partner, and not settling for “less”. Judging people based on their appearance because of how you judge your own self and others.

This has catastrophic implications, and keeps going and metastasizing into various areas of your life like a cancer or virus.

All of this comes from the “small” judgments we place on ourselves, others, and situations on a daily basis. They may seem small to us, but to God or the universe or whatever name you may want to call it they are NOT.

All of these judgments often come from our childhood and how we were raised and form their own patterns in culture, society, countries, nations, etc..

So how deep do your stories go? they go deeper than you can imagine, they are often where we don’t want to look or go.

But I’ll tell you a secret, going there is the best thing you can possibly do for yourself, because when you start unraveling those patterns and getting to their roots. You will be FREE!

Every time you go a little deeper, watch your behavior, then ask yourself where did this come from and why? The answer will change you in subtle ways that will bring you closer to your TRUTH.

Your truth without all the “spices” of culture, religion, family patterns or anything that isn’t YOU.

So I invite you to ask yourself what’s something you have been holding on to that’s bringing you down, rethinking that story and letting go of any judgments about it today.
